An absolutely stunning March has helped deliver Mazda New Zealand its biggest year (April 2013 – March 2014) on record.
With sales of 722 units and 6.4 percent market share, it was not only the company’s strongest March but it was also Mazda’s best month ever for Dealer Sales. The company’s year on year growth of 19.5% was ahead of the industry’s total of 18.2%.
Andrew Clearwater, Managing Director of Mazda New Zealand, says at the beginning of 2013 no one in the industry was expecting the market to be as dynamic as it has been.
“The pleasing thing is the indicators are pointing to a very strong CY2014 and we are confident the industry will achieve sales of between 117,000 and 120,000 units. From a Mazda perspective it was fantastic to see strong sales across the range but special mention needs to be made of the all new Mazda3 and the Mazda CX-5
“Although only launched in March 2014 the all new Mazda3 is already a strong contributor to our sales. With extremely strong forward orders it is clear this amazing vehicle has already resonated with the New Zealand motor vehicle buying public.
“The CX-5 continues to be an outstanding performer. Sales of 236 units in March make it the 4th best selling passenger vehicle in New Zealand and we don’t see the momentum slowing down.”
The company is looking forward to an exciting 2014 that will see it celebrate the 25th anniversary of the world’s best selling two door sports car – the iconic Mazda MX-5.
“The MX-5 celebration along with other model activity means 2104/15 is shaping up to be another busy and exciting year for Mazda New Zealand,” concluded Clearwater.
