The Sky’s The Limit for Mazda Sales

5th August 2014

Following five consecutive months of shattering sales records, Mazda New Zealand continues to power ahead with more new records in July.

With 727 sales across its passenger and commercial range, it was not only the best ever July on record but also surpasses all current achievements to become the best ever month in the company’s history.

Managing Director of Mazda New Zealand, Andrew Clearwater says we had some very ambitious targets for this financial year and if we carry on with this momentum we will exceed them.

“We are firing on all cylinders at the moment and delivering outstanding sales results to prove it” says Andrew Clearwater, Managing Director of Mazda NZ.  “Our model line-up is superb, we have great support with supply from Mazda Motor Corporation, and our hard-working dealer network is very focused on delivering a brand experience that is second-to-none”, continues Clearwater. ”

The July result serves up a big tick for Mazda’s new-generation product offering, with sales of the all-new Mazda3 and CX-5 leading the way; the latter extending its dominance within the medium SUV category and now placed fourth on the country’s top-selling passenger car leader board.

This growth and record sales achievement is not just limited to New Zealand.  Following the best year in its 94 year history for the financial year ending March 2014, Mazda Motor Corporation has confirmed its first quarter results are on target to set another new profit record.

Worldwide revenue during the quarter came in at ¥706 billion (NZD$8.08 billion), a year-on-year increase of almost 15 per cent.

“Globally we are experiencing significant growth and our profitability continues to increase.  Mazda has managed to reform after a turbulent period in the automotive industry and all signs are showing we are onto a winning formula with our SKYACTIV-Technology,” concludes Clearwater.

Clearwater goes on to explain the company is set to shake up the light car segment soon with the introduction of the all-new Mazda2 this summer.

“A hugely anticipated car and the next model to benefit from the KODO design expression and SKYACTIV technology platform; the all-new Mazda2 will offer a completely new direction for light cars and further expand the Mazda brand proposition for Kiwi motorists.”
