Yet another record has been broken at Mazda New Zealand following a superb September of new vehicle sales with the company achieving its biggest ever single month on record.
Following what has now been eight consecutive months of record sales for Mazda New Zealand September was certainly one to remember with an outstanding 783 retail sales and a market share of 6.6 percent.
It was not only a stand out month for Mazda but the industry recorded its biggest September since the Motor Industry Association started collecting records in 1975. With an overall registration of new vehicles of 11,840 for the month the last time numbers were this high was in 1986.
Andrew Clearwater, Managing Director of Mazda New Zealand says the entire company and dealer network are thrilled to break such a substantial record which has stood since September 2008.
“We have some very ambitious targets in place yet we continue to hit them every month, thanks to the efforts of a hard-working and committed dealer network; and an exceptional carline offering that combines stunning design and class-leading technologies that deliver unparalleled value for Kiwi motorists”.
While the entire Mazda line-up contributed to the overall September success, the Mazda3 is now reaching its full potential selling 270 units and placing second in the small car segment.
The Mazda6 also took the number two spot in the medium segment, while the Mazda2 had its strongest month to date with 112 sold.
“The Mazda2 sales was a great result for a model that is coming to the end of its product cycle and further demonstrated its popularity in New Zealand. We are confident with the arrival of the all-new Mazda2 this summer that we can disrupt the light segment completely,” says Clearwater.
Growth for Mazda is well and truly strong as the company tracks close to 12 percent ahead year to date.
