New Mazda3 combines dynamism with quality

New Mazda3 combines dynamism with quality8 September 2016

Mazda designers have developed an enviable reputation for designing vehicles that stand out from other marques and this trend continues with the new Mazda3.

Enhancing the design of a vehicle that had previously won accolades around the world was no easy task, but the designers rose to the challenge by making subtle changes resulting in the new Mazda3 having a more dynamic mature look.

Andrew Clearwater, Mazda New Zealand Managing Director continues to be amazed with the skill and ability of the Mazda design team in Japan.

“The exterior changes they have made to the Mazda3 have resulted in a vehicle that gives off a sense of dynamism while at the same time highlights Mazda’s commitment to quality.

“In New Zealand the Mazda3 has been one of the top selling vehicles in our line up and with the changes they’ve made to the new model we are confident this will continue. The subtle design cues accentuate the body’s wide stance and give an impression of elegance combined with honed dynamism – a fantastic combination that will attract the attention of New Zealand motorists.”

The new Mazda3 gets a new grill treatment featuring a lower positioned brand symbol and bolder signature wings. In keeping with the vehicle’s quality look the front indicators are integrated into the chrome fog lamp bezels.

The SP25 Limited model gets a new LED headlamp design resulting in a sharper front face and along with the SP25 it also gets 18-inch dark gloss alloy wheels and privacy tinted glass for rear and side windows.

“When New Zealand Motorists get behind the wheel of the new Mazda3 they will be wowed by the finish and attention to detail.

“Mazda has a reputation for creating cabin interiors that exude quality and an upmarket feel and the Mazda3 is no exception. It looks stunning with all interior components fitting seamlessly together,” says Clearwater.

Rather than make changes across the entire interior the designers enhanced individual components to deliver a sporty yet composed and dignified environment. This is highlighted in a number of areas including satin chrome plating of the air conditioner’s louver and a metallic finish on door handles. Double pleating is used on soft pads such as door trims to enhance the softness and add to the quality feel.

All new Mazda3 models have an Electric Parking Brake (EPB) freeing up space for a new centre design console featuring a commander control and related switches.

Like the Brand–New Mazda CX-9 the new Mazda3 gets the same updated steering wheel design with a smaller centre pad and steering switches on a single level. The steering wheel is wrapped in genuine leather providing a firm smooth grip.

Driver safety and reducing driver distractions have always been a focus of the Mazda design team and this continues in the new Mazda3. The driving display has been enhanced with information on the driving environment displayed on the top half of the screen and information on the vehicle below. It is also easier to read with upgraded colour, brightness, definition and contrast.

All models feature a black cloth trim while the SP25 Limited model has black leather and the option of pure white leather.

Whilst the exterior colour palette features eight colours, including three new additions, Machine Grey Premium Metallic, Sonic Silver Metallic and Eternal Blue Mica appearing on a Mazda carline for the very first time.

mazdacare features as standard with every new Mazda3 – a commitment Mazda makes to ensure each new vehicle continues to perform in optimum condition. mazdacare comprises a Mazda Genuine Factory Warranty and Mazda On Call Roadside Assistance for a 5 year, unlimited kilometre period and Genuine Mazda Servicing for 3 years/100,000 km (whichever occurs first) at no extra cost.

Despite significant gains in specification and design, pricing remains unchanged for the new Mazda3. The vehicle is available now starting from $32,795 plus on road costs.
