The New 2019 Mazda CX-3 – Evolved For You

16 October 2018

It may be the smallest member of Mazda’s CX family but the 2019 CX-3 doesn’t lack when it comes to features that match those of its larger stablemates. Known for its striking design and dynamic performance, the award-winning CX-3 has been further evolved with the addition of the luxurious Takami grade to ensure it remains at the top of the list for Small SUV buyers.

First seen in the new Mazda6 the Takami grade features bespoke content including Nappa leather trim, an automatic day/night rear view mirror and powered sunroof.

Mazda New Zealand Managing Director David Hodge says the initial feedback from Dealers on the upgraded CX-3 has been extremely positive. They believe it will appeal to those who already love the CX-3 with the Takami grade offering an added touch of sophistication and luxury.

“It adds another dimension to an already outstanding line-up of Mazda CX vehicles that we believe is unmatched in the New Zealand market.”

The 2019 Mazda CX-3 has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and all models feature a reversing camera as well as i-ACTIVSENSE safety technology such as Advanced Smart City Brake Support – Forward (ACSBS-F) and electric parking brake for ease of operation. Other features include increased storage courtesy of rear console with storage bin and lid and cup holders in the rear seat centre armrest.

The GSX model has a number of additional i-ACTIVSENSE safety technologies, including Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Smart City Brake Support Reverse (SCBS-R) and Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC).  The GSX grade also offers an intelligent on-demand All-Wheel Drive system giving maximum grip and vehicle control when you need it.

The exterior and interior get a refresh to further enhance the elegant look of the vehicle. A new grille design features on all models with GSX, Limited and Takami grades showcasing new 18-inch alloy wheels, new front and tail lamp designs, piano black door pillar garnish and new dashboard decoration.

Mazda’s craftspeople and engineers have made significant enhancements to noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) by increasing thickness of front and rear door panels, rear door glass and a denser headliner in the cabin.

Two-colour changes will ensure the 2019 CX-3 further stands out from the crowd with Mazda’s signature-Soul Red Crystal Metallic and Machine Grey Crystal Metallic colourways replacing Soul Red Metallic and Meteor Grey Mica.

In addition to the sunroof, Nappa leather trim and automatic day/night mirror, the 2019 CX-3 Takami also features Limited grade specifications, including LED running lamps, heated exterior mirrors, Bose Premium audio system (seven speakers), heated front seats, Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and Driver Attention Alert (DAA).

Pricing for the 2019 Mazda CX3 ranges from $31,995 for the CX-3 FWD 2.0L GLX 6AT model through to $41,695 for the new CX-3 FWD 2.0L Takami model.
