Mazda proud to support the Madness

1 May 2015

Mazda is extremely proud to be supporting ‘Mad Mike’, Whiddett and his latest creation, the highly anticipated Mazda 26B-TT MX-5 aka RADBUL, that will make its debut at theforthcoming Formula Drift Pro Championship round in Atlanta from 8th – 9th May.

Glenn Harris, General Manager, Vehicle Sales & Marketing at Mazda New Zealand says “Mike is the full embodiment of the Mazda spirit and we are blown away by how the Mad Mike Motorsport team has turned the iconic Mazda MX-5 into RADBUL. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

“The Mad Mike brand has won fans around the globe, and Mike is recognised internationally as one of the world’s best drifters - we’re honored to be helping his drive for excellence” says Harris.

Having already experienced the demands of Formula Drift back in 2010, Mike and his team were under no illusions that their 2015 campaign needed to break the mould. Fully customised from the ground up around Mazda’s short wheelbase roadster platform, RADBUL is debatably the craziest pro spec drift car that’s ever been built.

“To compete in a championship consisting of the most progressive race cars on the planet, we needed to dream big and that’s definitely what we’ve done with RADBUL.” Whiddett says.

Built using genuine Mazda parts and componentry, the twin turbocharged four-rotor Mazda rotary engine produces more than 1000 horsepower and is finished in a fresh marine-camouflage livery that is truly unique.

“We wish Mike and his team all the very best for the Formula Drift World Championships and can’t wait to see RADBUL shredding it at the highest levels of pro drifting” concludes Harris.
