For the first time in the company’s history Mazda New Zealand has placed 2nd in passenger sales following its best ever April on record and its fifteenth consecutive month of record sales.
The 679 new vehicles sold delivered a 16.9 per cent increase YoY. As a result Mazda holds a very strong 4th place in the industry for the first four months of the year with an overall market share of 7.2 per cent.
Andrew Clearwater, Managing Director of Mazda New Zealand says “April was an outstanding one for Mazda and to move into the number two position for passenger sales feels extremely rewarding.”
“This special achievement in April and ongoing growth in our brand position demonstrates the benefit of a comprehensive showroom offering, refined over a number of years to deliver unique value for kiwi buyers. But equally, this result recognises the work of our design and engineering teams in Japan; as well as the commitment of our hard-working Dealer network that delivers our brand promise in a distinctive Mazda way.
“We are particularly thrilled with the performance of the first ever Mazda CX-3 that finished number one in the Compact SUV segment, some 30 units ahead of its nearest competitor in its first month on sale. The motoring buying public now have had a chance to see this new vehicle and what it offers in terms of style and performance and we expect demand to increase in the coming months.”
The year ahead will continue to be a busy one for Mazda including the eagerly anticipated launch of the iconic all-new MX-5 later in the year and2015 model-year upgrade for the Mazda BT-50.
