Mazda Adds Touch of Luxury to CX Range

18 October 2018

Mazda’s impressive Crossover SUV range has been further enhanced with the addition of the luxurious Takami grade as part of a series of upgrades for the Mazda CX-9 and Mazda CX-3 line-up.

First seen in the new Mazda6 the Takami grade features bespoke content including Nappa leather trim, authentic Rosewood panels and genuine aluminium trims.

Mazda New Zealand Managing Director David Hodge believes the addition of the Takami grade, along with other enhancements to the CX-9 and CX-3, provides the company with the best offering of SUV vehicles in the market.

“From the popular CX-3, the class-leading CX-5, through to the flagship CX-9 and our brand-new Diesel 7-seat CX-8, there is a Mazda Crossover SUV to suit the wide variety of needs of New Zealand motorists.

“We will continue to enhance and refine the CX-range to ensure it delivers the very best in design, performance and safety technology that New Zealand vehicle buyers have come to expect from Mazda.”

Equipped with the ground-breaking SKYACTIV-G 2.5T Engine –the CX-9 has class-leading performance with real-world fuel efficiency. Offering excellent dynamic performance in the mid-to-low rpm range – where the majority of everyday driving occurs.

In addition to the Takami grade, the 2019 Mazda CX-9 gets Apple Carplay™ and Android Auto™technologies across the range, along with i-ACTIVSENSE active safety technologies deployed through the range. Handling and ride have also been improved through refinements to suspension and steering. Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) has been further refined via a restructure of the cabin’s headliner.

All CX-9 models are now All-Wheel Drive and equipped with an Active Driving display that is projected onto the windscreen, heated exterior mirrors, front parking sensors and an enhanced i-ACTIVSENSE Safety package that includes High Beam Control (HBC-which automatically dip the headlights), Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC), Lane Departure Warning (LDWS) and Smart Brake Support (SBS).

The CX-9 Limited is further enhanced with a Heated Steering Wheel, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and genuine aluminium trims. The new Takami grade CX-9 features ventilated seats, a 360-degree view monitor along with 7-inch centre meter display and windscreen de-icer. The genuine Rosewood decoration panels, hand crafted box stitched leather steering wheel, and centre console LED ambient lighting provides the driver and passengers with a sense of refined luxury.

David Hodge said, “We expect the Takami grade CX-9 to prove very popular, especially with private buyers looking to combine design and performance with that premium feel.”

The 2019 Mazda CX-9 range starts at $59,695 for the AWD GSX model, $65,295 for the Limited and $67,895 for the top of the line TAKAMI model
