Important Notice Regarding Fuel

Mazda New Zealand is aware of an issue regarding the quality of fuel sold at Z Energy, BP and Mobil stations in Auckland between mid-November and mid-December 2017, where heightened levels of active sulphur in the fuel may have interfered with fuel tank level indicators.


Fuel sold in Auckland during this period has been linked to inaccurate fuel gauge readings, with the potential for vehicles to run out of fuel despite the fuel gauge showing petrol still remaining. In such cases, the damage caused by heightened levels of active sulphur may require that fuel tank level indicators be replaced.

Mazda owners who feel they may have been impacted by this fuel quality issue should contact the fuel company concerned in the first instance.
